LANDSCAPING LASALLE

A Finished Property, Not a Finished Phase One.

LaSalle has more new construction than anywhere else in Essex County, which means a lot of properties here are sitting half-done. Builder grade, a strip of sod, and a five-year plan that never gets past the driveway. We do it the other way: full design first, then the whole build in sequence, so you get a finished property instead of a project you’re still funding in 2029. Design, hardscape, grading, sod, planting, and irrigation, all with our own crews on one quote.

  • Full landscape design, from concept drawings to planting plan
  • Interlock patios, walkways, and driveways
  • Retaining walls, steps, and grade correction
  • Sod, hydroseeding, and finish grading
  • Garden beds, trees, shrubs, and mulching
  • Pergolas, gazebos, and irrigation systems

LaSalle Properties We Landscape

Waterfront and Lakefront Properties

Lakefront lots come with problems inland properties never see: wind that shreds the wrong plantings, erosion at the grade break, and a view you can’t block with the usual privacy screening. We design around all three.

Executive and Custom Homes

When the house is the nicest one on the street, the landscape has to hold up its end. We build finished properties — full design, quality stone, mature plant material, and detailing that still looks intentional in year ten.

New Builds and New Construction

Builders leave you a graded lot and a pile of clay. We take it from bare dirt to finished: proper grading and drainage first, then hardscape, then sod and planting, in the right order so nothing gets torn up twice.

Rural Properties and Acreage

Larger lots need a plan that concentrates the effort where you actually live and keeps the rest low-maintenance. We design the zone around the house properly and handle the acreage sensibly.

Established Homes and Mature Lots

Older properties usually have good bones and thirty years of accumulated decisions. We work out what’s worth keeping, take out what’s failing, and rebuild the rest so it looks like it was always meant to be that way.

Commercial and Multi-Unit Grounds

Plazas, offices, condos, and multi-unit properties get the same design and build process, scoped for traffic and durability instead of curb appeal alone.

What's Included in Our LaSalle Landscaping Services

Every Matrix project starts with a design and a fixed number — not a rough verbal and a surprise invoice. Below is the full scope we handle in-house. Most projects use four or five of these, and they all get sequenced so nothing gets built twice.

Landscape Design and Planning

We start with drawings. Layout, grades, materials, and planting plan, all on paper before a machine touches the property, so you can see what you’re buying and change your mind while it’s still free.

Interlock Patios, Walkways and Driveways

Proper base depth, proper compaction, proper edge restraint. The part nobody sees is the part that decides whether your patio is still flat in ten years.

Retaining Walls, Steps and Grading

Engineered walls for the heights that need them, and honest grade correction for the ones that don’t. We fix the drainage while we’re in there, not after you call us back.

Sod, Hydroseeding and Lawn Installation

Finish grading, topsoil, and either sod for an instant lawn or hydroseed for larger areas. We tell you which one your property actually needs.

Garden Beds, Planting and Mulching

Bed shaping, soil prep, and plant material selected for the exposure it’s going into. Mulched, edged, and installed to a spec that survives its first winter.

Pergolas, Gazebos and Shade Structures

Custom-built structures sized and sited for your space, anchored properly, and finished to match the rest of the build.

Irrigation Design and Installation

Zoned systems designed around your actual planting plan, installed by our own crew, with spring startup and fall winterization available on a schedule.

Lawn Care and Seasonal Maintenance

Once it’s built, we can keep it. Mowing, fertilization, weed control, spring and fall cleanups, and bed maintenance on a set rotation.

Common Questions About Landscaping in LaSalle

Let's Talk About Your Property

We’re here to answer your questions and guide your next step.
Do you actually work in LaSalle, or are you an east-county company?

We’re based in Belle River, roughly forty minutes out via E.C. Row. We book LaSalle projects in blocks so the crew is on site consecutive days until it’s finished. What we don’t do is stretch a two-week build across two months because the drive is inconvenient. If the schedule doesn’t work for you, we’ll tell you before you’re invested, not after.

Grading and soil, before anything decorative. New LaSalle subdivisions get stripped of topsoil, driven over by heavy equipment for a year, then given a rough grade and a thin skin of soil over compacted clay. Sod laid straight onto that will yellow by August and stay thin for years, and a patio built on it will move. We decompact, correct the grade so water leaves the house instead of pooling at the back fence, bring in real topsoil depth, and then build. It’s the least visible money you’ll spend and the reason the property still looks right in year eight.

No. That’s the main reason projects go sideways. We do the design, the hardscape, the grading, the sod, the planting, and the irrigation with our own crews, sequenced so nothing gets installed and then torn out. One quote, one schedule, one person accountable when something isn’t right.

Design-build projects at Matrix start at $5,000. The number moves with square footage, material selection, how much grading and drainage work the property needs, and whether we’re building from a bare lot or working around what’s already there. You get a fixed quote off approved drawings before anything starts. We’re not the cheapest option in Essex County and we’d rather say that upfront than waste your afternoon.

Further than most people think. Build season in Essex County runs April through November and the calendar fills over the winter. LaSalle books out early because of the volume of new construction here. If you want a patio finished for July, the design conversation should happen in January or February.
